This week, we had the pleasure of holding an institutional meeting with the City Council of Palma de Mallorca, led by its mayor, Jaime Martínez Llabrés. The meeting took place at City Hall itself, in a warm, professional, and collaborative atmosphere. The mayor was accompanied by Llorenç G. Bauzá de Keizer, fifth deputy mayor for the Natural Environment, Healthy Environments, Markets, and Innovation.

On behalf of SIRT, our CEO David Garriga Carrera; David Peña, sales director; David Pérez, director of Solutions and Services; and Blanca Torres, head of service management, were in attendance. The delegation actively participated in a discussion that highlighted their shared commitment to promoting a robust and sustainable technology ecosystem in Mallorca.

A gathering to share a vision and explore opportunities

During the meeting, we had the opportunity to share our technological vision with the City Council, as well as some of the innovative projects we are promoting in key areas such as:

  • Digital transformation of the public and private sectors,
  • Advanced cybersecurity and critical infrastructure protection,
  • Managed Services, designed to improve the operational efficiency of organizations of all kinds.

In addition, we jointly analyzed the challenges and opportunities currently presented by the Balearic Islands’ technology ecosystem. In this regard, we addressed issues such as strengthening local talent, creating specialized jobs, improving business competitiveness, and Mallorca’s strategic role as a hub for innovation in the Mediterranean.

The discussion was fluid and enriching, making it clear that public-private partnerships are an essential driver for building a region that is better prepared, more resilient, and technologically advanced.

Mallorca as a Strategic Hub for Innovation

For SIRT, Mallorca is a strategic location. The recent opening of our new office in Palma demonstrates our firm commitment to the island, its talent, and its potential to become a leader in digital transformation and cybersecurity.

At this meeting, we were able to convey to the mayor our firm commitment to continuing to contribute to Mallorca’s economic and social progress. We believe in a model of innovation that:

  • promote the digitization of public administrations,
  • improve the services provided to citizens,
  • strengthen the region's digital security,
  • establish the islands as an attractive environment for technology companies and innovative initiatives.
