DsCitizenConnector

DsCitizenConnector

dsCitizenConnector is an innovation initiative that involves citizens as active participants in European Data Spaces. Through a mobile connector for Android and iOS, it enables secure and transparent data sharing under the individual’s full control, in line with European principles of data sovereignty.

The project addresses a key challenge in the data economy: connecting the information generated on mobile devices with Data Spaces, which have traditionally been geared toward organizations and large-scale infrastructures. Thanks to its architecture specifically designed for mobile environments, it facilitates simple, scalable, and interoperable citizen participation. Developed under an open-source license and compatible with IDSA and GAIA-X standards, dsCitizenConnector reduces the need for centralized infrastructure, fosters digital trust, and accelerates the creation of new data-driven services in areas such as healthcare, mobility, public services, and the social economy.

Through this initiative, SIRT is helping to promote a more inclusive, sustainable, and people-centered data economy model, transforming the smartphone into a secure gateway to the digital ecosystems of the future.

The dsCitizenConnector project is spearheaded by the Government of Spain, through the Ministry for Digital Transformation and the Civil Service and Red.es, as well as by Mobile World Capital Barcelona, a key initiative within the European digital sovereignty strategy.
